Gareth is the interim Head of the National Physical Laboratory’s (NPL) Advanced Manufacturing strategy. He leads a talented team who are working hard to forge collaborations across industry, academia and government, using the extraordinary science and engineering undertaken at the NPL to accelerate the UK’s manufacturing industry’s growth and competitiveness.

Gareth is also Programme Director for the Advanced Machinery & Productivity Institute’s (AMPI) UKRI Strength in Places Fund innovation programme, which is a collaboration between partners across local government, industry and academia across the North of England.
